Fresh milk, aromatic cheese or savoury curd cheese spread...the range of milk and dairy products is very diverse, especially in the Gailtal Valley. As cheesemaking has a long tradition in our regions, numerous farms have dedicated themselves to making this "white gold". The best-known cheese from the region is probably the "Gailtaler Almkäse PGI", which is only produced on the Gailtal Valley alpine pastures in summer. The farmers' products range from typical regional specialities like Glundner cheese spread to cheese classics like Camembert and semi-hard cheeses to innovative creations made from curd cheese and wonderful spices. Especially connoisseurs of cheese made from raw milk will find in the region what their heart desires!
