Carnic Cycling Path and Gitschtal Valley Cycling Path

Cycling path for leisurely tours with the entire family

Starting in Kötschach-Mauthen, leads the Carnic Cycling Path R3 almost entirely along the river Gail right through to Nötsch and continues then to Villach.

The cycling path is well-signposted and leads through small villages, past old farmsteads and inns, where local specialities and homemade produce like the „Gailtal Valley Bacon“ and „Gailtal Valley Alpine Cheese“ are served.

The path leads in west-easterly direction, is slightly downhill for most parts and is therefore ideal for family cycling tours. The wild-romantic Gitschtal Valley Cycling Path R3b connects the Gitschtal Valley and Lake Weissensee to the Carnic Cycling Path R3.

NEW this year: You can hire E-Bikes from us for the very first time this year. This will make your tours even more enjoyable. These bikes are supported by an electric motor and are as normal bicycles or as mountain bikes available.

Plenty of well developed cycling paths and mountain bike tracks invite to leisurely cycling tours. Many of the routes lead around or are nearby the railway line, giving you the opportunity to take the train back home after you have finished your tour.
