Zuchengraben - Waterfall

The stream over the Zuchen Waterfall flows only during snowmelt or after heavy rainfall, then the channel that has carved the water into the rock is a thin, long jet. However, the rock formation is impressive at any time of the year. The last section of the path has almost the character of an easy climb.

The vegetation along the hiking trail is specially adapted to dry soils and very interesting to observe.

From the Alpe-Adria-Hotel we walk towards the railway line or from the railway station in an easterly direction, cross the railway in a northerly direction and stay on path no. 16. We walk through the forest past a spring - fountain - above the Schluga lake campsite in a northerly direction. We reach hiking trail no. 53 and after approx. 20 minutes on very rough ground we reach the interesting rock formation of the Zuchen waterfall, which only carries water when the snow melts or there is heavy rainfall.

The way back is the same as the ascent.
