Rauchkofel

The ascent initially takes place over forest roads or the summer trail through the forest up to the Upper Valentinalm. There, you enter the mighty scenery under the powerful north faces of the Kellerwand and Hohe Warte. Through the so-called high valley, you continue to the Valentintörl. For well-conditioned ski tourers, the ascent continues further up to the Rauchkofel.
Propozycja

In midwinter, from the Upper Valentinalm, the ascent to the Wodnertörl (2059 m) to the northwest is recommended. This route is shorter and especially sunnier in midwinter than the dark high valley towards Valentintörl.

From the Rauchkofel, you can also ski down beautiful slopes to the so-called Angerle (~1800 m) to the west, but then you have to climb back over the Wolayer See (1958 m) to the Valentintörl to reach the starting point of the Lower Valentinalm. This variant is very rewarding with suitable snow conditions!

Wskazówki

From the Plöckenpass road, first follow the road to the Untere Valentinalm and then continue in the direction of the Obere Valentinalm. After the Untere Valentinalm, take the forest path and shorten the summer climb over the so-called Schlangenbichl. At the Obere Valentinalm you reach open terrain and then hike southwest under the imposing north walls of the cellar peaks into the high valley. Following the course of the valley you finally reach the Valentintörl. There you turn north (right) and reach the Rauchkofelboden 2238m through a steep ascent (ski ev. tragen) and now ascend via the south flank to the western summit. The eastern summit (summit cross) is rarely climbed, because the summit flank is very steep. This requires a winter with above-average snowfall.
