Detailed description section Hermagor railway station - Villach Warmbad (57 km)
Starting point is the train station in Hermagor (car parking, bus stop, S-Bahn line "S4"). Eastwards to just before the OMV petrol station - Turn right over the railway track onto cycle path R3. Through the Burger Moos to Untervellach and on to the Pressegger See. If you want to take a break already here, we recommend a stop at the Pressegger See adventure park (after 7 km) with a café restaurant directly on the lake. Continue along the lake to Görtschach - from here the path leads through idyllic floodplain landscapes along the Gail to the Vorderberg nature adventure pool (17 km from Hermagor).
Insider tip: Snacks from top chef "Hermi" in the Bad-Restaurant! First continue along the Gail river and then along the cycle path along the railway line to Nötsch (27 km from Hermagor). In the centre you should stop at the bakery Wiegele and taste the famous Müsliweckerl (flour and milk products from our own farm) or visit the "Museum of the Nötsch District" in the same house.

North of the railway line the Raweg R3 leads along the village of Saak through the Schütt in the direction of Villach. 7 km after Nötsch you will be "surprised" by a mountain inn (approx. 1 hour 50 minutes pure travel time from Hermagor). Recommended in Lisi's Alm restaurant: "Lisi's Spezialbrot" or the homemade cakes. Immediately after that we turn right over the Gail, first briefly in the direction of Arnoldstein. After about 500 m you should not miss the turn-off to "Erlendorf" (gravel path). South past "Oberschütt", then along the Gail to Müllnern (don't miss the turnoff towards Spittal / Drau cycle path to reach the Warmbad Villach train station (57 km from Hermagor). Pure travel time: 3 hours. Return with the S-Bahn "S4" to Hermagor. Travel time: 62 min.)
