KM5 - Zollnersee Hütte-Bischofalmen

From the TVB in Kötschach Mauthen, follow the B110 for about 1 kilometre in the direction of Plöckenpass and then, at a 90 degree right-hand bend, go straight on into the Würmlacher Landesstraße L21. Follow this road for about 5.3 kilometres until Weidenburg. Turn right here and follow the alpine road approved for cars until you reach the Zollnersee Hütte. In total, you will have to complete 1,100 metres of ascent on a 14 kilometre stretch. The descent is 1 kilometre on the same route. Shortly before the Rosserhütte, however, you turn left towards Bischofalmen. The gravel path turns into a cart path on a hill and leads first to the Obere Bischofalm. Immediately after this, there is another ascent of about 50 metres in altitude before the path leads downhill along the steep northern slope in narrow bends. In the area of the Untere Bischofalm you then change back to a forest road. Passing the Kronhof, you return to the valley and then to your starting point. With the E-MTB, the tour can also be taken in the opposite direction. The steep ascent over the Bischofalm, on rough ground, also challenges bikers with motor support.
