Ski mountaineering in Nassfeld

Fresh tracks through untouched powder

As the days get shorter and the temperature falls, wintersports enthusiasts look forward to the best time of the year. That also goes for fans of ski mountaineering in the Nassfeld area. Thanks to a special microclimate, the south of Carinthia is blessed with a thick covering of snow during the winter months, making it a haven for skiers and snowboarders looking to lay down fresh tracks on the untouched slopes of the Carnic Alps and Gailtal Alps. A number of rental shops offer all the equipment needed for ski mountaineering.
