Bauernladen Lenz

To have a real pig. Better bacon than milk - this decision for the bristly livestock was already made by the parents, and in 2001 Sepp Gratzer and his Anni took over the farm. From 20 pigs, there are now 100, leading to significant renovations and expansions, as the four-legged friends need to feel comfortable, have enough space, and be able to put on healthy fat in suitable conditions. What comes out of this can be admired in the spacious, inviting cooling shelves in Lenz’n Bauernladen directly at the farm – and of course purchased: finest, aromatic bacon, dry and even cooking sausages, fresh meat is available on request. Additionally, there’s a bit of beef from the surrounding farmers, game from friendly hunters, cheese from the Gailtal alpine pastures. Everything else you might need for seasoning, cooking, and pickling grows wonderfully on the fertile soils around the farm. Thus, Anni and Sepp, with the active help of their two daughters Letizia, Malena, and Grandma Annemarie, grow crunchy vegetables, herbs, and even grain themselves.
