Recharging your batteries in the Nassfeld-Pressegger See region

Feeling the mountains

The gentle crunching of the snow beneath your feet, the steadiness of your breath as you’re walking up the mountain, and the unparalleled feeling of having conquered a summit. Special moments of silent pleasure and fascinating scenic views. The soft burble of crystal-clear spring water on sluiced out rocks. The gentle clanging of cowbells on the alpine pastures leads you along a trail seamed with rustic, weather-worn huts. A light wind softly blows over the ripples of sparkling mountain lakes and rustles the treetops of ancient knotted trees. Spending time in the Nassfeld-Pressegger See region is pure mountain joy – even and especially in brief moments of silence.

Truly and consciously enjoying the mountains: In the World of Mountains & Lakes, that’s not just possible while hiking and biking. If you want to bask in the stunning scenic views of awe-inspiring rock formations, you’ll have many opportunities to do so in the Carnic Alps, in the Gailtal Alps and in the Julian Alps. You’re thinking of crossing borders while hiking? The Carnic Peace Trail lets you experience world war history from up close. Hike along the so-called Peace Front, and you’ll be captivated by its energy! How about during a guided day or multi-day tour?

Conquering the highest summits by cable car or lift

Enjoying the mountain world in Austria and Italy

The convenient starting point of your mountain adventure: one of the three summer cable cars and lifts in the Nassfeld region. They’ll quickly, comfortably and effortlessly bring you closer to surprising moments of joy. You’ll already be able to feel the power of the mountains during your ascent – and enjoy breathtaking scenic views of nearby lakes and even the Italian Adriatic See from the sunny side of the Alps.

By the way: With the +CARD holiday, summer cable car and lift rides are free and relaxing moments of awe just within reach.

Scenic views at special power places: the mountains

Once you arrive on the mountain, it’s time to marvel at your surroundings and enjoy them to the fullest. The exceptional perspective, the stunning scenic views and the unique grandeur that hardly any other power place offers. Have a seat on one of the benches or at the panorama sundeck on Gartnerkofel, and feel what it means to be in high spirits!

Tip: If you would like to take a step into “nothingness”, you might want to experience the mountains from a bird’s eye view on the cantilevered Sky Plate platform.

Admiring the stunning mountain world from down by the lake

Slowing down, taking a deep breath and gathering new strength by being in the mountains: You don’t necessarily need to be in higher altitudes for that. The new Slow Trail leads you around Lake Presseggersee. Once you slow down, you’ll start to see – that’s the motto for taking in the beauty of the lake in all its facets on this trail. Let the clear blue colour of the lake and the gentle rustling of the reeds accompany you. How beautiful it is to watch the surface of the water sparkle as the sun hits it! Take this image into the forest with you. And then let the green silence engulf you, let your gaze wander and your thoughts quiet down …

Tip: The surrounding mountain scenery while swimming in the comfortably warm water of Lake Presseggersee has an equally fascinating and relaxing effect. As for the summer cable cars and lifts: With the +CARD holiday, admission to the bathing lidos is free as well.

You would like a little more activity and movement? You’ll have plenty of diverse opportunities for that in the summery World of Mountains and Lakes.
