The Sillianer Hut is the westernmost refuge of the Karnic main ridge. It is the starting and ending point of the Karnic High Trail 403 (Friedensweg - Via della Pace).
In addition to serving as a support hut for the Austrian Southern Alps long-distance hiking trail No. 03 (Sillian - Karawankenweg - Radkersburg), the European long-distance hiking trail 10, and the European long-distance hiking trail Via Alpina, the Sillianer Hut is also a popular excursion destination for guests and locals from the entire Hochpustertal valley.
In the immediate vicinity of the refuge, well-marked paths lead to the Heimkehrerkreuz 2273m, Helmgipfel 2433m, Hornischeck 2551m, Hollbrucker Eck 2573m, the soldier's cemetery Hochgränten, and many other worthwhile destinations.
