Fishing in the Gailtal Valley

Fly fishing with drinking water quality

The area for anglers in the Gail river and its tributaries totals over 40 kilometres.
The Gail river is excellent for fly fishing. Grayling, chub and trout as well as huchen can be caught in the Gail river. Only fly-fishing equipment with maximum one bait and barbless hooks is permitted. A maximum of two rainbow trout can be harvested per day.

Unfortunately, fly fishing due to the flood in autumn 2018 is not possible!
