Via Ferrata "Däumling"
The climbing paradise Nassfeld provides an unique attraction: the via ferrata “Däumling" ("Little Thumbling“), which is situated freely accessible in the Gartnerkofel Massif. The secured via ferrata has been graded as a category B/C level of difficulty and is 500 metres long. Climbing enthusiasts must conquer 150 metres in altitude in order to reach the highest point of the “Däumling“. Summit conquerors enjoy a stunning view across the Carnic and the Julian Alps on their way up to the roof of the rock tower.
Apart from the beautiful view is the suspension bridge another highlight of the new via ferrata. After all, there is a drop of 100 metres to the left and right side of the bridge.
The new via ferrata can be reached easily by using the Gartnerkofel chairlift: a hiking trail leads to the access and to a viewing platform with seats. Guests without climbing ambitions can also enjoy the view across the Carnic and Julian Alps here.
