The so-called "Heroes' Cemetery" in the municipality of Dellach commemorates the cruelty, especially of World War I, and serves as a memorial to prevent further wars. Every year on All Saints' Day (November 1), a memorial service is held in remembrance of unnecessary bloodshed, attended by the Protestant pastor from Treßdorf and the Catholic pastor from St. Daniel, representatives of the political community and local associations, as well as with active participation from the population.
The nearby, formerly fiercely contested border between Austria and Italy is now permeable thanks to the abolition of internal borders, and various efforts are underway to further soften the borders in people's minds.
