03 Southern Alps Trail, E20: Naßfeld - Zollnersee Hut

From the Alpenhotel Plattner above Naßfeld, we hike partly in dense fog and strong wind alternately over alpine terrain and gentle alpine meadows along trenches and steep slopes to the Zollnersee hut.

Suggestion

A detour to the Roßkofel 2240 m is recommended. About 2 additional hours of walking time should be planned.

Equipment

Sturdy mountain boots, possibly hiking poles

Every backpack should contain: rain, cold, sun protection, first aid kit, mobile phone (European emergency call 112), sufficient fluids, hiking map of the region.

From the A2 South Motorway exit HERMAGOR onto Gail Valley Road 111 via Hermagor to Tröpolach.
