Around Pressegger See

The 9th largest lake in Carinthia with a depth of up to 14 m has been a landscape protection area and habitat for numerous living beings since 1970. The dense reed belt is home to many bird species, and the lake and its outflow are popular fishing spots for carp, pike, or catfish. The lake promenade path runs through the reed belt and offers opportunities for photography and admiring this landscape protection area. (Average width 2-3m)

Directions
From the South Motorway A2, take the Hermagor exit and continue on the B111 to Presseggen. Then to the Presseggen bathing area, which is located in the NW of the lake. => pass through the village of Pressegger See; the bathing area is located on the left side after the Alpe Adria Hotel.

Directions

From the Presseggen lido, take the pavement in a westerly direction to the village sign, then follow the cycle path southwards and through the reed beds, over 2 bridges to Passriach. After reaching the Oswald lido, keep left and cycle directly above the lakeshore over a short ascent to the former Hotel Seerose in Passriach. After crossing a small wood, you reach a meadow orchard; a few more metres to the main road, then down the steep asphalt path heading north, turn right into the alder quarry forest before the municipal swimming pool. Along the outflow of the lake, past small ponds to the bridge. Here you have a beautiful view towards the Dobratsch. This dam path leads through the largest reedbed area in Carinthia. When you reach the tarmac road, turn left and follow the signposts along the tarmac and pavement to the starting point.
