Carnic High Route - Stage 1: Leckfeldalm - Obstansersee Hut

The Carnic High Route or "Peace Route" runs along the entire Carnic ridge, which lies on the border between Austria and Italy.
Suggestion
In addition to the conventional route, summit climbs can also be included. Especially recommended are: Hollbrucker Kreuz and the cemetery Hochgränten.

Directions
Reachable from Sillian in about 2.5 hours on foot, by private car or by hut taxi.

Directions

The Leckfeldalm, starting point of the Karnischen Höhenweg, can be reached from Sillian in about 2.5 hours on foot, by car or by hut cab. The walking time to the Sillian Hut is about 1.5 hours. From the Sillian Hut you can reach the Obstansersee Hut in about 3.5 hours.

Alternative: Ascent from South Tyrol:

from Versciaco and Sesto mountain railroads up to 2,000 m - from there about 1.5 hours to the Sillianer Hut, to the Obstansersee Hut 4-5 hours.
