KM4 Strajach - Mussen

Beautiful mountain bike route through a forest area over the mountain flank northwards up to the "Stiermahd".

Suggestion
  • Open to MTB riders unless otherwise indicated in the following period:
    • May 1 - August 31, from 9 am to 7 pm and September 1 - October 31, from 9 am to 5 pm
  • ATTENTION: The route is currently only passable up to the Stiermahd!
  • Highlight - very nice rest area with a fountain at kilometer 10.9
  • From the Stiermahd, a hiking trail continues to the flower paradise "Mussen".
  • The route is also very suitable for E-MTB.
Equipment
  • Helmet duty!!!!!!
  • Right clothing: Do not only adapt your clothing to the current weather conditions. Also pack warm clothing, a spare jersey and rain protection in summer, especially in the early and late seasons.
  • Emergency equipment: bandages, repair kit (spare hose, pump, tools), map, mobile phone and possibly GPS
  • ATTENTION: In the mountains reception is not guaranteed everywhere!
  • Take enough to drink with you and plan a stopover in good time
Directions

Arrival by car:

From Hermagor via the B111 (Gailtal Road) or from Oberdrauburg via the B110 (Plöckenpass Road) to Kötschach-Mauthen.

Directions

KM 0 Approx. 100 m on the B110 heading south

KM 0.1 Turn right and follow the B111 into the Lesach Valley as far as the village of Strajach

KM 7.3 Strajach - at the fountain turn right uphill. After a few metres the road changes from asphalt to gravel - follow the main road uphill

KM 9.7 Turn right and continue along the main road (downhill on the left towards St. Jakob)

KM 12.1 Car park - this is where the MTB route ends - initially return along the same route

KM 14.5 Straight on towards St. Jakob

KM 17.0 Turn left and follow the B111 back to your starting point
