More challenging mountain bike tour in the center of the Gailtal Alps
Suggestion
  • Variation - the loop can also be ridden in the opposite direction.
  • The tour is also very suitable for e-mountain bikes.
  • During the alpine pasture season, there is also a place to stop at the Jochalm.
  • Open to MTB riders - unless otherwise stated - in the following period:

    May 1 - August 31, from 9 am to 7 pm and September 1 - October 31, from 9 am to 5 pm

Equipment
  • Helmet mandatory!!!!!!!
  • Proper clothing: Adjust your clothing not only to the current weather conditions. Also pack warm clothing, a spare jersey, and rain protection, especially in summer and even more so in the early and late seasons.
  • Emergency equipment: first aid kit, repair kit (spare tube, pump, tools), map, mobile phone and possibly GPS
  • WARNING: Reception is not guaranteed everywhere in the mountains!
  • Bring enough to drink and plan your stops in good time

Arrival by car:

From Hermagor via the B111 (Gailtal Road) or from Oberdrauburg via the B110 (Plöckenpass Road) to Kötschach-Mauthen and from there via the B111 (Gailtal Road) continuing to Reisach.

KM 0 Heading east, slightly uphill through the village

KM 0.2 Straight on, always slightly uphill

KM 0.3 Turn left after the stream

KM 2.6 Change to gravel road - follow the main road uphill

KM 2.8 Continue left along the main road

KM 4.6 straight ahead

KM 6.7 Bend - continue right

KM 7.2 straight ahead

KM 7.3 Keep left

KM 7.9 Bend - continue left

KM 8.2 Straight on to the Jochalm

KM 8.4 Jochalm - straight on

KM 9.6 Car park - turn right - follow the main road downhill

KM 12.3 Bend - continue right

KM 14.8 Change to asphalt road

KM 14.9 Bear left - continue along the asphalt road to Reisach

KM 18 Turn left across the stream and continue downhill to your starting point
