Batnight – Bat Night in the Weißensee Nature Park
Discover and explore the fascinating world of bats together with a bat expert from Arge NATURSCHUTZ and our nature park rangers. Equipped with flashlights and bat detectors that make the ultrasound calls of bats audible to the human ear, we will set off on an excursion. Batnight aims to raise awareness about the threats to bats and overcome people's fears of them.
Additionally, on 19.09.2024, our annual evening bat count will take place in collaboration with the Coordination Centre for Bat Conservation and Research in Austria (KFFÖ)! During this exciting event, conclusions about the population of these fascinating animals will be drawn during a nationwide simultaneous count in Austria.

Dates: Thursday, 07.08., 21.08.2025
Friday: 19.09.2025 (Evening Bat Count)
Time: 20.00 – 23:00, on 19.09. from 19:00 – approx. 20:30
Meeting Point: Weissensee Information, Techendorf South
Duration: approx. 3 hours
Equipment: Sturdy hiking shoes, weatherproof clothing, drinks
Costs: € 22,- adults, € 15,- children (up to 14 years), no costs incurred during the evening bat count on 19.09.!
