Cross-border, varied bike tour along the Nassfeld past some alpine pastures of the Carnic Alps

Suggestion

Open to MTB riders unless otherwise specified during the following period:
- May 1 - August 31, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and September 1 - October 31, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The tour can also be done with an E-MTB.
The route carries the HP6 signage.
The route also runs in Italy - (ID required)

Equipment

Helmet required!!!!!!!
Proper clothing: Adjust your clothing not only to the current weather conditions. Also pack warm clothing, a spare jersey, and rain protection, especially in early and late seasons, even in summer.
Emergency kit: first aid supplies, repair kit (spare tube, pump, tools), map, mobile phone, and possibly GPS
WARNING: Reception in the mountains is not guaranteed everywhere!
Bring enough to drink and plan a timely stop for refreshments

Directions

Public transport:

The most sustainable way to get there is by train (coming from Villach) to Hermagor. From Hermagor you can then reach the town of Tröpolach by the station shuttle and the bus.

Alternatively, there is also the option to arrive by bus from the direction of Kötschach-Mauthen or Villach to Hermagor or Tröpolach.

From Tröpolach you take the Millennium Express up to the mountain station. Here you change to the Madritschenbahn and ride it down to the valley station - now just a few minutes to the border.

Arrival by car:

Via the B111 (Gailtal road) to Tröpolach - from there via the B90 (Nassfeldpass road) to just before the Austrian/Italian state border.
