Karnischer Höhenweg – Stage 3: Porzehütte – Hochweißsteinhaus

The Karnischer Höhenweg or "Peace path" runs along the entire Karnischer ridge, which lies on the border between Austria and Italy.

Suggestion

Summit ascents can also be integrated into the conventional route. Especially recommended are: Porze and Wildkarleck.

Directions

From the Obertilliach valley by car along forest road to the Klopfsee parking lot, 1,690 m, from there 45 minutes - 1 hour. (250 meters elevation gain)

Directions

Two possible transitions:

a) Route along the ridge with four summit crossings approx. 8 hours (in case of bad weather, descent to the Mitterkar bivouac is possible)

b) Via delle Malghe path (path of the mountain pastures) via Tilliacher Joch and Hochalpljoch (mostly on the Italian side, less difficult) approx. 9 hours
