A cross-border circular trail in a unique setting - right in the Carnic Alps
Suggestion
  • Due to the undulating terrain of the trail, you should take it slowly on this circular route, especially if you are a beginner in cross-country skiing.
  • The actual continuous course of the trail may vary (depending on snow conditions etc.). 
Directions
Arrival by car:

Coming from Hermagor or Kötschach-Mauthen, you drive via the B111 (Gailtal Road) towards Tröpolach/Nassfeld junction - from there continue on the B90 (Nassfeldpass Road) to the former border crossing.

Public transport:

The most sustainable travel option is by train (coming from Villach) to Hermagor. From Hermagor, you can reach the town of Tröpolach using the station shuttle as well as the bus / ski bus.

Alternatively, there is also the possibility to arrive by bus from the direction of Kötschach-Mauthen or Villach to Hermagor or Tröpolach.

From Tröpolach, you then take the Millennium Express before reaching the trail via the slope descent or the descent with the Madritschenbahn and a short walk.

Directions

The trail starts directly behind the former customs building in Italy, the trail runs beautifully along the Lago Pramollo.

The trail is suitable for beginners as well as for advanced skiers. Due to its slight hilly slopes at the beginning of the trail, you should take it slowly.

Over the 2-kilometre-long trail, you will complete 80 metres of altitude difference.
