Crayfish meets species protection
Follow the fish biologist Mag. Martin Müller along an exciting excursion through the Nature Park Weissensee. During the boat tour to the eastern shore, we'll get more information about the ecosystem lake Weissensee, and you’ll explore and examine the crayfish population. We’ll catch and measure crayfish at the north-eastern shore of the lake, which is a great opportunity to learn more about the biology and ecology of crayfish, the possibilities of individual marking and the Europe-wide special position of lake Weissensee crayfish. The collected data contribute to a scientific long-term monitoring helping to stabilize the crayfish population at lake Weissensee.
