“Cycling“ on railway tracks in the beautiful Gailtal Valley from Kötschach-Mauthen to Jenig.

A wonderful experience for everyone, for couples and families, for smaller and larger groups and days out with the club. Plenty of fun and nature adventure are guaranteed. The route on the Gailtalbahn railway tracks leads slightly downhill, through the Upper Gailtal Valley, past small villages and across picturesque landscapes. Enjoy the ride – speed doesn’t matter here.

Following a short technical introduction and a few tips, the fun begins. The 21 kilometres long route offers various additional programmes, like playgrounds, places for a stop, gastronomy and much more, at some of the intermediate stations. The ride takes a bit more than 2 hours. Return of the rail trolley at the final stop, train station in Jenig, by 5 pm at the latest. The route leads only in one direction; there is no oncoming traffic!

Return journey to the starting point by public transport (bus service 5058), stops directly at the train stations. Buses in service every hour MON-FRI, every 2 hours at the weekend. Information available at or - Tel. 04282/25225
