Journeys of discovery on two wheels

Bike rides are a great way to explore Nassfeld and get to know the flora and fauna that make this region so special. A comprehensive network of trails and cycle paths measuring 730 km makes it easy to get around and experience the natural beauty that the province of Carinthia in the south of Austria has to offer.

Alpine adventures for everyone

Cycling in the south-west of Carinthia has much to offer riders of all abilities, whether alone, with friends or as a family. There are many flat rides along the banks of the Gail river, around the local lakes and even as far as Villach. Trains are available for the return journey until Hermagor.

Tip! Visitors can hire an e-bike and let the chain take the strain!

Cycle tours for foodies

Cycling can be hungry work, so why not stop off at one of the many huts in the area serving traditional food? There is no feeling quite like enjoying a hearty lunch on the terrace looking out over freshly mown meadows and listening to the sound of birds singing. A modern infrastructure, including state-of-the-art lifts, make it easy to access bike trails and mountains huts high up in the Alps.

Cycle paths such as the "Radweg R3" are ideal for families with children. Starting in the village of  Kötschach-Mauthen, it leads riders along the banks of the Gail river as far as the town of Villach. Along the way there are plenty of picturesque spots to stop and rest, including the Pressegger See lake with its crystal-clear waters.

Another popular trail is the "R3B Gitschtalradweg", which starts in Hermagor and leads towards Weißbriach before ending at the Weissensee lake.
