Public transport:

The most sustainable travel option is by train to Oberdrauburg (coming from Lienz or Villach) or to Hermagor (coming from Villach).

From Oberdrauburg or Hermagor, you can then take a bus to the town of Kötschach-Mauthen. From here, depending on the season and availability, there is the possibility to use the on-call bus or a taxi to the Plöcken Pass.

Car arrival:

From Hermagor via the B111 (Gailtal Road) or from Oberdrauburg via the B110 (Plöcken Pass Road) to Kötschach-Mauthen and from there continue towards the Plöcken Pass.

Ausgangs-/Endpunkt:

Vom Plöckenpass ausgehend Richtung Kärnten (Norden) bis zu den Betonsperren, unmittelbar neben der Straßengalerie gehen und ab hier den Stufen entlang der Galerie folgen. Sobald du auf der Galerie angekommen bist, hältst du dich kurz nach links, um unmittelbar danach rechts, durch den lichten Wald, aufwärts zu gehen.

Entlang der Route gehst du an drei Weggabelungen vorbei - du hältst dich Richtung Norden/geradeaus. Der Themenweg verläuft über einen stetig ansteigenden Steig bis zur Cellonrinne und ist mit zahlreichen Informationstafeln ausgestattet.

Der angegebene Zeitbedarf umfasst die reine Gehzeit für den Aufstieg/Hinweg (ohne der Zeit, die du für das Lesen der Infotafeln benötigst) - die Zeit für den Rückweg, der über die gleiche Route verläuft, wie der Anstieg, ist nicht mit einberechnet.
