Jochalm round RW_N39

Short, very beautiful and especially scenic circular hike - with a view of the king of the Gailtal Alps
Suggestion
  • The circular hike can also be very well combined with a summit ascent GS_N10 to the Reißkofel (surefootedness, a head for heights and some other requirements are definitely necessary for this tour) as well as with the GS_N9 summit tour - Little Reißkofel.
Directions
Arrival by car:

From Hermagor via the B111 (Gailtal Road) or from Oberdrauburg via the B110 (Plöckenpass Road) to Kötschach-Mauthen and from there via the B111 (Gailtal Road) continuing to Reisach. Here you turn onto the side road to the Reißkofelbad or subsequently onto the gravel road near the Jochalm.

Public transport:

The most sustainable way to get here is by train to Oberdrauburg (coming from Lienz or Villach) or to Hermagor (coming from Villach) theoretically possible.

From Oberdrauburg or Hermagor you can then reach the town of Reisach by bus. From here, you should allow about 2.5 hours extra time on foot (uphill) to reach the start of the route.
