Nölblinger Grabensteig - Zollner GS_N12

Varied, rewarding mountain hike - along shady forests and over numerous ravines - from the open areas of the Gail valley to the historically significant Carnic main ridge.
Suggestion
  • The hike can also be combined with the physically demanding circular hike RW_N42.
  • The descent/return route can also be taken via the path near the Rosseralm.
  • The geotrail TW_N18 is an interesting addition to the hike.
Equipment

This varies depending on the season. However, always included are:

Functional hiking clothing, wind jacket, headwear, rainwear/protection, hiking boots, provisions, sufficient drinks, change of clothes, various personal items such as camera, mobile phone, sun protection, sunglasses, first aid kit, etc.

Directions
Arrival by car:

From Hermagor, drive along the B111 (Gailtal Road) towards Kötschach-Mauthen - in Gundersheim, turn left, cross the Gail, turn right, and continue along the L24 to Nölbling.

From Oberdrauburg, drive via the B110 (Plöcken Pass Road) to Kötschach-Mauthen and from there turn onto the L21 in Mauthen. After the pumping station, just before the Gail bridge, turn right onto the L24 and continue to Nölbling.
