WY_N28 Rattendorf Circular Tour

A beautiful, very easily accessible, family-friendly winter circular hike with views of the Gailtal Alps

Suggestion

The winter hike can also be ideally extended if you combine it with the Winter Hike WY_N34.

Directions

Arrival by car:

From Hermagor via the B111 (Gailtal Road) to Jenig - or from Oberdrauburg via the B110 (Plöckenpass Road) to Kötschach-Mauthen, then continue towards Hermagor (via the B111) to the village of Jenig.

In Jenig - at the gas station - turn towards Rattendorf onto the Rattendorf state road.

Directions

Ausgangs-/Endunkt:

Vom Ortszentrum in Rattendorf wanderst du durchs Siedlungsgebiet in Richtung Waldrand (Süden - Karnische Alpen). Nach den letzten Häusern, wenn du den Wald bereits erreicht hast, zweigst du bei der Weggabelung nach links ab - in Richtung Doberbach.

Bei der Abzweigung vor dem Bach wanderst du weiter nach links - die Route führt nun weiter über die Ebene, zwischen Loipenzentrum und Doberbach. In weiterer Folge überquerst du die L22 und spazierst weiter zur Gail.

Du biegst hier wieder nach links ab und wanderst in der Nähe der Gail zurück in Richtung Rattendorfer Straße (talaufwärts, Richtung Kötschach-Mauthen, Waidegg). Dort zweigst du wieder nach links, zum Ausgangspunkt der Tour, ab.
